Meet Katie
Katie's journey into Herbalism as a profession started in 2000 at the Rocky Mountain Center for Botanical Studies, culminating with her 750 hour Herbalist Certificate. Through continued extensive apprenticeships in Vitalist, Wise Woman, and Earth Centered traditions over the years, her commitment deepened with the completion with many other professional holistic trainings.
Katie has continued a profound soul journey with the plants, nurturing a career and heartfelt connection to the plant realm for over two decades.
Katie, now the visionary behind Embodying Herbalism, is now established at her tranquil sanctuary, Casa Vida Flor in Costa Rica. Prior, she curated a private practice focused on women's health and served at esteemed herbal apothecaries like The Scarlet Sage in San Francisco and managed Rebecca's Apothecary in Boulder for 8 fruitful years. With expertise in product development for natural health brands and owning her own line of herbal body care, Katie has left an indelible mark. Her passion extends to education, co-creating international herbal gatherings like Medicines from the Edge, and presenting at esteemed botanical conferences worldwide.
In addition to her extensive herbal expertise, Katie delves into diverse realms of holistic wisdom. She completed a year-long feminine wisdom ceremonial training with All Seasons Chalice, holds a Permaculture Design Certificate from Punta Mona Center for Regenerative Design, and deepened her understanding with the Flower Essence Society Professional Course in 2018. Furthermore, she honed her energy practices through a rigorous 3-phase Qigong Instructor training with Adam Holtey in Ashland, OR.
Rooted in the majestic landscapes of the Rocky Mountains and the volcanic allure of Mt. Shasta, Katie's journey intertwines with the green world. A seasoned traveler, she has immersed herself in diverse cultures, eventually finding her home in the lush jungles of Costa Rica, where she now resides with her husband and cherished daughter. Katie's profound experiences fuel her passion for fostering deep connections between individuals and plants. Her holistic approach encompasses ceremony, nature immersion, plant spirit medicine, somatic healing, community engagement, and educational empowerment.
Presently, Katie Rose orchestrates community classes, workshops, and in-person herbal mentorships at Casa Vida Flor, complemented by distance mentorships via Embodying Herbalism. She passionately serves clients, specializing in women's health and womb healing, employing a diverse array of modalities. Additionally, she's venturing into crafting a line of tropical mountain flower essences in Costa Rica.
